Georgia's biggest resort
Gudauri is the biggest and most developed ski resort in Georgia. The south-facing plateau on which the rsort is build offers over 70 km of prepared trails. The slopes of Gudauri are above the tree line and are generally considered to be avalanche-safe which makes them a perfect playground for freeriders. Gudauri lies 120 km to the north of the capital Tbilisi – around two hours drive from the Tbilisi International Airport.
There is 6 chairlifts and one gondola. Some t-bars and baby lifts are also available. The bottom station of first ski lift Pirveli is at 1,990 m above sea level and the top station of the last ski lift Sadzele is at 3,279 m.
Dry climate makes the snow cover last till May and winter season usualy starts around mid – December, this year the official opening is set for 10th of December. The best thing about Gudauri is lots of snow, lots of sunny days, almost no cues (comparing to the Alps) and very cheap skipass prices (20$ a day, season pass 250$).
